The weekend of 3/3-3/4/2012 is a busy one for USATF Ultrarunning National Championships. There will be two races being contested, the 50 Mile Trail Championship on March 3rd, and the 50k Road Championship on March 4th.
The Nueces 50 Mile will be the site of the 50 Mile Trail Championship. The race is held in Rocksprings, TX and is a Teja Trails event. This is the third running of the Nueces 50 mile, the course is made up of (3) 16.7 mile loops, which are said to be rugged and beautiful. As of this writing there are 15 men and 7 women that will compete of the USATF Championship, so if you are not a USATF member, and plan on running in this race, sign up with the USATF now!
In contrast to the rugged trails in Texas, you have the flat pavement in Lloyd Neck, NY, the site of the Caumsett 50k and 2012 USATF 50k Road National Championship. The race is held in Caumsett Park on a 5k paved loop and is hosted by the Greater Long Island Running Club.
Good Luck to all those competing!
