The Fifth Annual Burning River 100 Mile Endurance Run is less than three months away! This year’s race will take place on July 30-31, starting at Saturday morning at 5AM at Squire’s Castle in Willoughby Hills, Ohio and finishing the next day at 11AM at Falls River Square in Downtown Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The point-to-point course contains a combination of technical trail, bridle trail, towpath trail and road and feature three park systems: the Cleveland Metroparks, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and the Summit County Metroparks.
Last year’s winners, Todd Braje (McKinleyville, CA 15:29:24) and Annette Bednosky (Jefferson NC 16:44:21) both set course records on the way to becoming national champions. This year’s race will again be the USATF 100 Mile Trail National Championship.
For those who are nearby, a series of five training runs covering the entire course will be held starting in Late May and ending in mid-July. Information about the training runs, a list of 2011 entrants, online registration, and other race info is available on the event web site at burningriver100.org .
