24 Hours of Turin

We have been asked by our Italin friends to post some information about the 24 Hour of Turin.  This race is a candidate for the 2015 24 Hour World Championships.

2015 World Championship 24 hours. Turin candidate city

The scene of the Italian ultra particularly in recent years has demonstrated a capacity for relentless growth. Just think how from 2008 to now have been three occasions they have seen our country to host a World (100 Km Tarquinia 2008 – 24 hours Bergamo from 2009 to 100 Km Seregno 2012) and everything not to mention the myriad of titles earned by our athlets in the two specialties queens of ultra distances on all Giorgio Calcaterra and Ivan Cudin. He added that according to many, leading Stefano Scevaroli (JUTE national secretary and a member IAU), the 24 Hours of Turin is running on one of the best tracks of the world, as it benefited from a location entirely immersed in a green area pedestrian, sheltered by the shade of trees and well lit for what concerns the nocturnal phase. Participants also can count on the support of the large audience. The Parco Ruffini, then, is also home to two of the most important sport facilities: the indoor stadium, ideal for the opening ceremonies and the awards ceremony, and the stadium Nebiolo First, the ideal place to welcome the breakthrough area, already seat of Athletics Gala held in June each year. To this was added another nomination, again for 2015, advanced by the City of Turin for the title of European Capital of Sport. A good opportunity to check on the goodness of the application is imminent. The next 14/15 in April, will host the fourth edition of the 24 hours of Turin. 24 hours of Turin

• Departure: Saturday, April 14 10.00 – 10.00 Arrival Sunday, April 15
• Location: Torino, Parco Ruffini
• Circuit length: 1 km (measured and approved FIDAL)
• Type of location: surrounded by barriers in the pedestrian area, fully paved, sheltered from sun exposure, perfectly lit for night-phase
• Distances: 6 hours – 100 Km – 24 hours
• Registration fee: 6h € 25, € 30 100 Km, 24 hours € 40, € 120 relay (paymentby bank transfer)
• Hospitality: Hotel 3 stars located near the park Ruffini. Rates are per room, including breakfast: single room 40 €, double room 50 €, Triple € 75, children under 12 free.

Everything, as always, accompanied by the attention that the organization Asd Il Giro d’Italia Run against each competitor. Also new this year, finally, remember the first Italian Championship ultramarathon Banking & Insurance, and among the confirmations, the relay race of the proven elements of 8 for 24 hours (3 hours for each runner).
